AITs, Aides, and Adults are all Staff who work on site directly with campers.
Perks of volunteering:
Staff are welcome to volunteer one or both sessions.
The children of Adult Staff receive guaranteed placement in camp and 50% off fees. Boys and preschoolers of adult staff are welcome.
AITs and Aides are invited to join the Aides' overnight at the close of camp each Friday.
Registration:
All Volunteers must register for Camp Firefly at GSCNC.org. Once an adult registers we will send a code for the 50% Discount on campers.
Volunteers will be sent application information to indicate placement preferences upon receipt of their registration info from GSCNC.
Adult Volunteers need to add the role of Camp Firefly Adult Volunteer to their MYGS account.
Camp Scholarships are available for those who need them.

Volunteers will be sent a link to an application to indicate placement preferences and other information upon receipt of their registration info from GSCNC, after registering for Camp Firefly.
Application includes the following questions:
Camp Name
This is the name you will use at camp.
It is usually a nickname, one of your favorite things, a favorite food, or something you really like to do.
If this name has already been taken, you will be contacted and asked to create another camp name.
Camp Buddy: for Aides & AITs with special needs.

Email cannot be a school account i.e., @fcpsschools.net
Aides & AITs need to include a parent's email, to help with checking email and to keep them aware of what is going on at camp.
Phone number: Please enter a cell number so we may use it during camp. Aides & AITs also need to include a parent's cell.

Assist campers with clay creations and cleanup.
Science
Lead campers through a camp-themed STEM activity.
Campfire
Teach campers fire safety, make smores, and play water games.
Crafts
Lead campers through camp- themed crafts.
Drama
Help with costumes, props, and backdrops; along with directing campers in skits.
Sports Field
Utilize the field by letting campers run and play safely.

Camp Firefly hours may be used for school, Girl Scout Silver Trefoil & The Presidential Service Award
Girl Scout Silver Trefoil: earn three hours for each day of camp toward Girl Scout Community Hours-Council Service Hours.
